Amid the deepening coronavirus crisis and the state of emergency declared by Governor Baker on Tuesday, NEBC club organizers have decided to postpone this Sunday’s monthly tournament. In the few days since our March newsletter went out, CDC guidance on curtailing the spread of COVID-19 has increased its emphasis on “social distancing” measures, and group meetings both large and small in every category of business, education, and entertainment have been suspended. While it comes as a disappointment to us all, we hope few will disagree that this decision is in the best interests of both our players and the wider community.
We are tentatively re-scheduling the March tournament for May 17th, so our next scheduled event is the April 5th tournament. We will address the viability of each tournament date individually as the year progresses.
We wish all our members and their families good health.
